Explore Cabernet franc and merlot for intense red wine flavours
Chateau Montlau is remarkably well located. Sitting at the top of the hill overlooking the valley facing Saint Emilion, it offers one of the most beautiful views of the Dordogne. Originally Gallo-Roman, the castle dates back to the Anglo-Gascon era.

Its current owner, Armand Schuster from Ballwil, has succeeded in restoring this splendid property’s unique reputation in the region.

Grape Variety: Cabernet Franc and Merlot. 90/100 points by Andreas Larsson. www.BLINDTASTED.com

“Intense dark purple red core. Ripe nose, pure dark fruit with plum, cassis, mint and mild spices with discreet oak and vanilla. The palate has good bite and grip, youthful but already rounded with fine tannin, a fresh acidity, juicy dark fruit and crushed berry notes, good length and purity, modern and vibrant with good drinkability.”
